Top 10 reasons why one shouldn't run barefoot

  • Nike employees have families to feed and bigger houses to buy. Runners should do their part in supporting this cause by giving them $100 per 500miles
  • Explaining barefoot running to shod runners is as difficult as explaining colors to a colorblind person. Best avoid running barefoot to avoid these awkward conversations.
  • Homo Sapians evolved over a million years (or, umm, god created?) fine-tuning feet to run barefoot. In 1830s, Wait Webster thought we could evolve to run in shoes and we are well on our way into the next million years doing just that.
  • Barefoot runners gain unfair advantage by running in natural form while runners in shoes compete despite the unnaturally raised heals and casting around precious foot muscles structures..
  • Human being are smart and know what is best for them. They can train well just by thinking instead of the sensory feedback from millions (billions?) of nerve-endings on feet.
  • Bacteria are also our fellow lifeform and they deserve their warm, dark, damp homes. How cruel of Barefoot runners to deny them home and killing them with sunlight, antibacterial soap!
  • Fanned out toes in a newborn are so ugly that we need to modify them to turn toes as well as nails inward by wearing shoes with small tips.
  • Who wants to keep up a perfect form for hours in a long run when you can take it easy when you are tired and still be cushioned.
  • Bringing shoes inside house and not washing them for months in row makes a person more immune to infections due to exposure to germs brought in by shoes.
  • Running in shoes during rain is like a videogame of avoiding water puddles to avoid blisters. Barefoot runners miss out on this navigation skill by running straight through them,
